This is the first book I've read by this author and I loved it! I couldn't put it down. It grabbed me within the first chapter and held my attention the whole way through.
Dakota, a girl from the wrong side of town, meets Sam, a wealthy and privileged boy, who is destined to follow in his father's footsteps. They fall in love and marry two weeks after their high school graduation. Sam is then disowned by his father. Two years into their marriage, Sam's father blackmails Dakota into divorcing Sam. It isn't until 10 years later, that Dakota and Sam meet again.
The story is written in one of my favorite styles of POV by both Dakota and Sam, from the past and present views. As a reader, I completely fell in love with them. I could feel how much they loved each other and how hurt they were from the divorce. I felt bad for Dakota and I just wanted to yell at her to tell Sam the truth. I also understood Sam's hurt and why he wanted to return the pain by hurting her, but you could still tell their love for one another never died.
Each chapter also had a hint of suspense, so all I wanted to do is keep reading. This is book one in a two book series, so it does end with a cliffhanger. And I will definitely be buying book two to see what happens between Dakota and Sam.

Four Stars!

I was going to rate this a five star but the ending killed it down to four stars. Sam and Dakota were great. I loved the chemistry throughout the whole book. The dialogue was witty, their passion and longing were very easy to see. As a reader the author did an amazing job at making you feel everything Sam and Dakota felt. The author created a novel that allowed the author to understand the anger, sadness, loss and continued love between the characters. It's hard to forget someone when love was never the issue.
The reason my rating dropped was due to the rushed ending where everything just seemed to be forgotten and all will be well. I know it's never that easy. It would have been better if the author continued at the same place. None the less I'm going to continue on to the next one as I really want to know what happens next.
Do I recommend this as a read? Of course, just because I didn't give it five stars due to my own opinion doesn't mean it's not worth it, because it definitely is worth reading. You'll fall in love with Sam and Dakota, their love, and much more.

3.5 "Real love is Priceless" Stars

This little gem of a story is told my favorite way, Dual POV & alternating back & forth in time. It looks to be part of a series since on GR there is a book 2 planned. I don't have any release date information at this time. I'm assuming it is about the same couple & will pick up where this story left off as this one does NOT END ON A CLIFFHANGER, but it seems to have more to come. I like this author, she is very easy to read. This story finally sucked me in, but it took awhile. I think I needed it more down & dirty. Things were revealed too quickly & I did find a couple plot holes. Other than that a really good story that I would be interested in finding out more of the story.
