P.S. Ghoshdastidar is currently Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur. A Ph D from the University of South Carolina, he has over 27 years of teaching and research experience. He has published numerous research papers in reputed international journals and conference proceedings. He is also a reviewer for many prestigious international journals and is an elected fellow of World Innovation Foundation, UK. He is an Associate Editor of Heat Transfer Research, an international journal published by Begell House, Inc., USA.

A great book for chemical and mechanical engineers interested in heat transfer

This book, written by a highly regarded professor at the Indian Institute of Technology in Kanpur, has an admirable collection of solved problems in advanced heat transfer. Special emphasis has been placed on minimizing theoretical derivations (one must refer to Bird, Stewart, and Lightfoot's outstanding text for these), while showing how fairly complex problems can be solved using modern computing methods. Professor Ghoshdastidar has succeeded in maintaining a lively pace and has covered a lot of ground. This book will be most useful to practicing engineers in chemical, aerospace, and mechanical engineering.
