Catherineis a veterinarian and Director of Professional Studies at the University of Liverpool. She has a keen interest in equine performance, having completed her PhD in Equine Exercise Physiology. She has formerly lectured at the Royal Veterinary College, UK, the University of Queensland, and the University of Helsinki. 

Cathy holds the RCVS and European Diplomas in Equine Internal Medicine and is an RCVS Specialist in Equine Internal Medicine. 

Dr Lesley Goff PhD MSc(AnimPhysio) MAPpSc(ExSpSc)GDip(Manip) BAppSc(Physio)

Lesley is one of the world’s leading Animal Physiotherapists, currently balancing an animal physiotherapy practice in Queensland, Australia, with presenting at vet/physiotherapy conferences in Australia and internationally. Disappointing

I was led to this book by John Kekes, who cited it in his "Moral Wisdom and Good Lives." Kupperman's book, after Kekes, seemed bland, shallow, and dry. Any reader who wishes to know more about character and about moral self-cultivation should read Kekes slowly, carefully, and more than once. Then study Neo-Confucianism and the Yijing.

Teresa es Ingeniera Civil y Especialista en Gerencia de Construcciones de la Pontificia Universidad Javeriana de Bogotá

Una obra maravillosa e enriquecedora que impacta desde sus primeras páginas a través de las vivencias de su autora, quien a pesar de su limitación auditiva congénita, nos muestra como su inquebrantable voluntad, constante disciplina y la muy particular forma de percibir el mundo y afrontar sus retos, la han llevado a ser una mujer exitosa y sin prejuicios, para quien la expresión “no se puede” no se encuentra en su léxico. Es un ejemplo para la sociedad, a quien pide que no se impongan barreras y faciliten que cada día la cotidianidad sea más inclusiva; realizando también una importante invitación a quienes comparten su condición, para que abran sus mentes y se atrevan a explorar nuevos horizontes más allá del silencio.

Ejemplo de vida y superación

Teresa nos muestra una realidad que ignoramos, tal vez porque simplemente no nos toca vivirla o simplemente porque no nos interesa.

El libro recorre las dificultades de los sordos, pero lo que me parece más importante es que muestra cómo éstas se pueden superar.

Es una lectura que le puede ayudar no solo a las personas sordas sino también a quienes diseñan estrategias para facilitar la inclusión de este colectivo en las diferentes instancias de la sociedad.

Hermosa historia de superación personal

Este libro ayudará a cambiar la visión y prejuicios que existen sobre los sordos. No solamente ayudará a padres de niños sordos a apoyar en la oralidad, también abrirá la mente de la sociedad y así habrá más oportunidades sociales, educativas y laborales para las personas sordas.
¿En serio para qué vamos a cerrarles el paso, si mejor les dejamos el paso libre y vemos hasta dónde pueden llegar?
